This month has marked the beginning of something new and fresh.
I'm not sure what it is about autumn that makes me want to do and try new things. I love the idea of making goals and trying new things. Autumn makes me want to do brilliant things.
I am being careful not to make too many plans and jump too far ahead but, generally, I am feeling optimistic, even if I am playing my cards close to my chest. I'm hopeful that once I feel comfortable with them I'll be willing to share because I really am excited.
This season I have:
- Recorded video of my day to day life (not posted, as I now need to learn how to edit)
- Started taking my Etsy shop seriously again
- Connected with some brilliant bloggers around the world
- Had long chats with The Canadian
- Felt loved from across the Atlantic
- Reconnected with people I'd lost touch with
- Interviewed a brilliant small business owner (see this Friday's post but in the meantime hop on over to see Myro Doodles)
- Reached out to two other people who inspire me, asking them to share their story on my blog
- Connected with potential customers
- Learnt to knit
- Made new friends
- Watched Halloween films (9, Coraline, Casper, Practical Magic - we're not into scary movies at all!)
- Tried living consciously and keeping the house a little tidier
- Painted, designed and produced over 70 (!) Christmas cards in a single weekend!
- Spent time having chats about deep and meaningfuls
- Had good news: this
- Made big plans with The Canadian. Huge plans. Then changed them again.
- Painted 3 big pieces of art.
- Rearranged furniture, sold pieces we weren't using and started decorating the walls with photographs and art.
- Come third in a photography competition.
- Baked.
- Fallen in love with these food blogs: Food52, Smitten Kitchen, Joy the Baker, Veg Recipes of India (honestly, not a single one of these led me astray. ahhhmazing!).
- Started stalking these blogs: Things you Remember, From Casinos to Castles, Chimerikal, Deecoded and Esther and Jacob.
- Loved posts on these topics: inspiration, military life and long distance relationships, a little conversation about missing little things from 'home', celebrating birthdays abroad, what is your motivation for doing that?, living abroad simply, how to be happy alone, Gratitude, letters to your daughter.
- Started using Twitter (@lemonhive) properly. Ended up preferring twitter to Facebook. Sorry, Facebook.
I am grateful for what autumn has brought about already. I wanted to take the time to write a more in depth post about gratitude following last weeks post, but I need to take some time from writing that up and focus on the busy-ness that is this week. Next week I'll write up more about the benefits of gratitude but, for the moment, I want to reflect on how grateful I am for all of the positive experiences that have come my way this month.
