I read an article over here about coding archive pages. I've seen people do it but I never really understood why. When Elise mentioned that her blog was her resume, it resonated with me.
I've spent the last few days pinning images from my blog to Pinterest. I'm not going to lie, it's amazing to see my progress. It's even better when I realise other people like my work enough to re-pin it! Amazing.
I started coding the archives so that I could see it all laid out before me. It's far from perfect and I still need to put the side bar up with the archive links but seeing my progress, my work and my adventures easily without having to wade through pages and pages of labels is amazing.
At the very worst, it just demonstrates how much 'a little bit often' can add up. It's probably not all that modest to say that I've inspired myself but it's true. I didn't realise just how many little drawings and sketches I've done. I also didn't realise how many I haven't posted...more on that later!
Why have I coded my archives?
Having a visual archive makes it easier to navigate. You can label posts and that is a far easier option but this blog is about my designs, drawings and photographs. Wading through text and long posts, even when they are filtered by label, is tiresome and cumbersome.
This way, with mini pictures, it's easier to navigate and find what you need when you want it. I'm super happy with how this looks.
There are a few posts I skipped and overlooked but all in good time. I'll figure out the stragglers later. For now, here are the links to my lovely jubbly coded archive pages, what do you think?
